Algeria’s major highway close to completion

Work on Algeria’s East-West highway is drawing to its final conclusion, after several years of activity. The final stretch will connect Algeria with Tunisia and construction of this section is due to restart before the end of 2017. When the tender process is announced, the projected cost of the work will also be released. The Algerian Government is keen for work on this last stretch of the highway to be complete by the end of 2018.

The final stretch will connect Algeria with Tunisia and construction of this section is due to restart before the end of 2017.     Work has started on Algeria’s 63km bypass motorway to connect Guelma with Annaba and the East-West motorway, which is set to be completed within two years.     Construction work on Algeria’s planned Hauts-plateaux highway is set to commence at the end of June 2013. The highway will run 1,300km and connect Tébessa with Naâma, with the project being split into three sections.
