Both major tyre producers and smaller suppliers have new tyre types coming to market. These meet specific needs for key segments but share common values such as improved traction, resistance to damage and increased wear life.
Italian tyre supplier Marangoni says it is seeing demand for retreaded tyres for use with off-highway haulers in particular. Marangoni’s headquarters is located at Rovereto in north-east Italy and the extensive facilities on site include the biggest tyre retreading factory in Europe.

For port applications, the EV-4C and EV-4R are both size 18.00R25 and are particularly suited for container handling machines and straddle carriers, says the company. The EV-4C tyre has a deep tread design for use in wet conditions and to increase tyre life while reducing total cost of ownership.

Tough tyres from BKT are proving their worth on a difficult extraction site n the UK. The Littlejohns Pit is being worked by Brookland Sand & Aggregates Ltd of Saint Austell.
