Case has developed a concept wheeled loader to showcase new and developing technologies. The “Impact” is fully electric and features Case’s semi-autonomous “click & dig” system, but the most notable thing about the machine it its silhouette - it has no cab. It has been designed for remote operation.
“We can imagine in the future that we can drive the machine fully automatically from a kind of site control lounge,” explained Fabrizio Cepollina, head of construction for EMEA Case. “It could be interesting for dangerous areas such as demolition.”

Liebherr makes bold claims for its new wheeled loader range, saying that the latest models will offer unparalleled operating efficiency. High performance with fast cycle times are said to be matched with precise control at low speeds as well as low fuel consumption and running costs.
Manufacturers are continuing to develop new excavators and wheeled loaders offering increased performance - Mike Woof writes. New developments are being seen in both the wheeled loader and excavator markets. Caterpillar, Daewoo, Hitachi, Hyundai, Komatsu, Kobelco and Volvo CE all have new wheeled loader or excavator models now available.

A senior LiuGong figure says the company’s keenly awaited 900E Series excavator is a “very key machine” for its future. Dave Beatenbough, vice president of the Chinese construction equipment manufacturing giant’s research and development arm, said production of the model at LiuGong’s Dressta base in Poland was expected to begin “within three months”.
