Tough tyres from BKT are proving their worth on a difficult extraction site n the UK. The Littlejohns Pit is being worked by Brookland Sand & Aggregates Ltd of Saint Austell. The firm has sold over 2.3 million tonnes of sand and aggregates to both local and national customers since March 2010, showing a reach beyond Cornwall's borders. With one-third of its business run outside the county and a substantial sales volume in the London market as well, Brookland Sand & Aggregates Ltd has established itself as a key producer.  

Emovis for Teodoro Moscoso bridge

Emovis, part of Abertis Mobility Services, has implemented a roadside solution for Puerto Rico’s Teodoro Moscoso Bridge, operated by Autopistas Metropolitanas de Puerto Rico.  

The Emovis solution is maximising toll compliance through improved vehicle detection and identification systems. Emovis said that the deployment is part of a continued partnership with Autopistas Metropolitanas de Puerto Rico (Metropistas).  

More accurate mapping

Trimble and Radiodetection have established a collaboration to improve the technology used in the utility measurement and mapping process. Through the integration of the Trimble Catalyst DA2 GNSS system and Radiodetection’s RD MapTM+ application and precision locator products, the software and hardware integration streamlines utility-locating workflows. This can provide high-accuracy measurement capabilities for the generation of underground utilities maps in a single field operation.
