The cost of the planned bridge connecting Sotra Island to mainland Norway may be considerably higher than originally anticipated. The project could cost as much as €1.78 billion to carry out, which includes building the necessary road links and tunnel sections. Work for Peru’s Anillo Vial Periferico ring road project is underway at present. The project is costing an estimated US$2.4 billion. Meanwhile a loan worth US$350 million has been agreed for the Pativilca-Trujillo toll road project. This will be used to finance additional construction works for the project. The loan will be for a five year period.

Norway contract tender attracts bids

Interest is said to be strong for the project to build the Mjøsa bridge and E6 route connecting Moelv with Roterud in Norway. The project includes building a bridge spanning Lake Mjøsa as well as a 9.4km stretch of road. Five consortia have prequalified for the bidding process. The project is worth €262 million and Norway’s state-owned road business Nye Veier is expected to award the contract in the second quarter of 2020, with planned to commence in the first quarter of 2021.
Philippines toll road deal reached

The first three stretches of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway in the Philippines should be open to traffic by the end of October 2019.
