Morocco is spending 2.8% of its annual budget on maintaining and building roads as part of its 2008-2012 plan. For 2010, the state will allocate a budget of US$777 million on roads, a significant increase over the $413.6 million spent in 2006.

Astec, the US-based hot mix asphalt (HMA) and war mix asphalt (WMA) facility manufacturer has translated its award-winning website into Spanish. The company says that Spanish speaking visitors now have access to the wealth of information available at www.astecinc.com in their native language by selecting the Español option at the top of the home page. Astec plans to release a French translation of the website later this year.
ESRI's highway data solution

ESRI is developing a comprehensive highway data maintenance and linear referencing solution scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2010. Aimed at highway departments, state departments of transportation, and national roadway administrations, the company says it will provide an integrated set of tools and functionality that allows agencies to easily maintain highway geometry, their associated multiple linear referencing systems, and complex roadway features.
