Plans are in hand to upgrade a major highway in Mexico’s Sonoro state. A budget of US$1.6 billion has been set in place for the necessary work. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has awarded Atkins a major, six-year contract worth US$25 million. This will cover right-of-way (ROW) oversight, compliance review, and utility coordination services for transportation-related public-private partnership projects in the state. The project is worth some US$1.2 billion and will include the construction of service facilities along the route.
