IRF and NTRO partner will be delivering training and accreditation for road safety auditors in Australia and New Zealand

At the occasion of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety recently hosted in Marrakech (Morocco), the International Road Federation (IRF) and the National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO) have announced a partnership. The two bodies will deliver training and accreditation for road safety auditors in the Australia and New Zealand. In response to the growing need for high-quality road safety audits, this partnership will enable professionals trained by NTRO to gain international accreditation and be listed in the IRF International Registry of Road Safety Auditors.

England’s National Highways agency is using a variable message sign(VMS)  to display non-regulatory messages to indicate that maintenance teams may be out of sight.

The is the first time that such messages have been displayed in an effort to better communicate to drivers that ahead lay obstacles, diversions road works. The system from SRL Traffic Systems is displaying wording not usually used, including ‘Working even out of view’, to provide an awareness of operations not within eyesight of a driver or outside of the public eye.

High output concrete production from Liebherr

Mabey Hire supports the Whorlton Bridge

Whorlton Bridge in England’s County Durham has had to be closed to traffic while a major programme of works is carried out. Every component is to be removed, refurbished and replaced.

To facilitate the works, a bespoke catenary system has been installed, with Mabey Hire’s adaptable and modular propping equipment used to construct the temporary structure.

The latest version of Caterpillar’s successful D8 bulldozer comes with an array of advanced technologies that the firm says are designed to provide faster more accurate results. Power comes from a Cat C15 engine that provides an increase in power to 271kW, boosting performance for a wide range of dozing, ripping and grading tasks. The engine is Stage V/Tier 4 Final compliant and drives through a fully automatic four-speed transmission with Lock-up Clutch (LUC) torque divider.
