Modular emissions options with Scania engines

Scania has become an increasingly popular engine supplier for construction equipment manufacturers, thanks in part to its modular emissions solution approach. Offering a line-up that includes 9-litre and 13-litre straight six engines and a 16-litre V8, Scania has managed to meet Stage IV/Tier 4 Final standards without having to use a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

Raxtar’s novel energy saving hoist system

Hoist specialist Raxtar is now offering an energy saving system for customers. Pascal Matheeuwsen of the Dutch company said, “We have a nice new green solution. It’s an option we can supply with our hoist.” The hoist operates conventionally when raising its load, however when the platform descends its switches over to generator mode. Matheeuwsen said, “We achieve around 47% power savings compared with a conventional hoist.”
Total’s Lube-Shuttle system gives four ways to grease

Total’s automotive division was demonstrating its new Lube-Shuttle system for applying grease at Intermat 2015. Having developed four different application methods in the agricultural sector, Total is now looking to launch it in the construction plant sector, said director Rafael Roux. The four application methods are: a cartridge gun that can be operated with one hand, a two-handed pump, an electric pump and a compressed air spray. Total has also changed the way that the cartridge opens to make it easier
CECE and CISMA check machines’ compliance at INTERMAT

Experts checked 45 stands at INTERMAT and found that seven were exhibiting machines not compliant with European Union regulations. CECE, the Committee for European Construction equipment, and CISMA, the French association of construction machinery manufacturers, toured the stands before the opening of the show.

The new hybrid technology has been developed by the group’s earth moving business IHIMER which is a joint venture between the IMER Group and the construction machinery arm of Japanese giant the IHI Corporation.
