A woman in the Chinese city of Jiangsu became convinced her husband was having an affair with another woman and in a fit of rage, furiously attacked his car. A Chinese company, Sanya Si Hai, has developed a car that can be produced using a 3D printer. Costing just US$1,700, the vehicle is somewhat basic and is only capable of 40km/h. The battery-powered Shuya car can carry two people and is intended for use on short urban trips. Plans are in hand in Bolivia for 10 road projects. The state-owned road operator ABC has started the projects, which involve investments of more than US$588 million and extend for over 493km. China Harzone Industry Corporation is handling the $66.1 million project to develop the 38.06km Final Avenida Petrolera-Paracaya scheme in Cochabamba. The IRF has announced the winners of its 2015 Global Road Achievement Awards. The winners were revealed by International Road Federation chairman Abdullah A Al-Mogbel. In this year’s competition, the IRF highlighted 12 projects from around the world, each leading the way in innovation across major road and highway disciplines. The selection was made by an international panel of senior road development specialists.

A new book is available that is said to offer insight into green road design and construction. Called the Handbook of Road Ecology, this publication is the result of over three years of work involving collaboration of over 100 of the world’s leading road ecology experts from 25 countries.
