China expressway under construction

A new highway connection is now under construction that will link capital Beijing to Zhangjiakou. The new road will be 113km long and is being constructed to improve accessibility for the 2022 Winter Olympics being held in Beijing. Dana strikes deal with Brevini

Transmission specialist Dana Incorporated has struck an agreement to purchase the power-transmission and fluid power businesses of Brevini Group. Under terms of the agreement, Dana plans to initially purchase an 80% share in the Brevini businesses, with an option to purchase the remaining 20% by 2020. Dana has valued the Brevini businesses at €325 million, including the assumption of approximately €100 million of net debt. Road development for India’s Karnataka State

A series of road development projects will now move ahead in India’s Karnataka State. Some US$536.51 million is being budgeted by the Union Surface Transport Ministry. This includes funding for road projects in the twin cities of Dharwad and Hubballi. The funds will be used to surface six main roads in Dharwad, 13 main roads in Hubballi and nine roads in Dharwad and Hubballi.
VIDEO: Saskatoon bridge demolition removes final span

The final section of a defunct bridge in Saskatoon has now been removed by demolition contractor Rakowski Cartage & Wrecking. Excavators fitted with hydraulic breakers were employed by the firm to break up the final span, which collapsed into the river as planned. Demolition work to remove the defunct structure commenced in 2012. Other sections of the bridge were removed using explosive demolition earlier this year.

Construction work is proceeding on track for the Paniga Tunnel project in Italy, with the primary drilling and blasting phase now having been completed. Located in Morbegno in northern Lombardy, the tunnel forms part of a bypass stretch for state road 38.
