Koridori Srbije, the contractor building the eastern section of the Corridor 10 motorway between Nis and the Bulgarian border, said completion will be delayed. The newspaper Vecernje Novosti reported that Koridori Srbije said works on the Prosek-Bancarevo section, Crvena Reka-Ciflik, Pirot East-Dimitrovgrad and the Bancarevo tunnel should be finished by the end of the year. Construction on the Dimitrovgrad ringroad are due to be completed in March.

A Chinese contractor is building a new highway in Montenegro. The 40km highway will include a tunnel stretch as well as a bridge. China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) is the contractor carrying out the construction work, which is costing around €800 million. The project features a number of challenges as the route passes through difficult terrain. A new bridge is planned that will span the Okavango River in northern Botswana. The bridge will feature a cable-stayed structure and will be 1.2km long in all, with a 400m central section. The project also includes the construction of 3km of roads to connect the new bridge to existing road infrastructure, as well as installing necessary lighting and drainage systems. The project is expected to cost in excess of US$93 million and take three years to complete.

Progress is being made on a study being carried out in North America of the risk to road users from wildlife. The study is being carried out by Leonard Sielecki at the University of Victoria and covers Canada and the US. This investigates the risk to road users posed by animals entering the roadway and considers the benefits of technologies to warn drivers of such risks. According to Sielecki, over 500 people have so far responded, considerably in excess of the number expected. Of these respondents, around
