Sateco launches lift shaft podium
April 12, 2012
Sateco says its new lift shaft podium (PCA) makes it possible to block and secure access to lift shafts during building work. It also maximises secure work and material storage space during the time it takes to build up concrete shells. Due to its adjustable telescopic feet and the dimension markings every 10cm along its adjustment pipes, it can be perfectly adjusted between heights of 2.7m and 4m. Its wooden working platform can also be extended using sliding cross-pieces that require neither screws nor na
JCB is introducing a new three model range of breakers
April 12, 2012
JCB is introducing new hydraulic breakers to meet a range of customer needs. The larger HM870Q, HM1270Q and HM1570Q hydraulic breakers feature stainless steel components in critical areas as well as sealed for life accumulators, both of which boost operating life. Performance has been increased due to improved hydraulics, boosting efficiency and reducing noise while the breakers are said to have high power to weight ratios compared with rival units.
Sateco claims world formwork first
April 12, 2012
Sateco says its new detensioning spacer unit is a world first for the construction industry. The product is fitted with a side nut that acts as a valve, releasing the force acting on the formwork rod after concrete has dried. When the side nut is manoeuvred, the detensioning spacer unit is moved, thus releasing the pressure acting on the main nut. The main nut is then easier to unscrew, allowing faster and less strenuous form removal. Product designers at France-based Sateco came up with the detensionsing s
INTERMAT launch for tracked pump
April 12, 2012
The BSC 1409 D from Putzmeister is a self-propelled concrete pump designed specifically for concreting drilled piles on unfinished surfaces. In contrast to using truck-mounted concrete pumps for concreting drilled piles, it does not need supports to be set up each time it changes location. Compared to concreting with a delivery pipe, placement speed with the tracked concrete pump is now said to be considerably higher.
The new telehandler access platform from JCB meets growing demand
April 12, 2012
A new development from JCB is an access platform attachment for use with the firm’s 535-140 and 535-128 model telehandlers. This has been developed to meet growing market demand for access platform attachments that can be used on telehandlers in a range of construction duties.
JLG’s ‘green’ crawler booms
April 12, 2012
With working heights ranging from 14metres to 23metres, the five JLG Compact Crawler Booms feature a tracked wheel carriage and a narrow chassis for access through gates, yards, standard doorways and public buildings. The compact crawler booms are said to be low weight units drawing on an environmentally friendly combination of electric and combustion power for efficient energy use.
Heady height of construction
April 12, 2012
Ruthmann will be launching the first model of its new Height Performance series of aerial platforms during Intermat 2012. The Steiger T460 features a 46metre working height mounted onto a two-axle truck chassis with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) from 18tonnes to 21tonnes
JLG Liftlux’s triple-arm whammy
April 12, 2012
The diesel-operated Liftlux 245-25 by JLG is well-known, like the rest of the Liftlux range, for its extremely rigid and stable triple-arm scissor, giving the operator a comfortable work environment, even when the lift is elevated at full height. Because of the model’s 500kg platform capacity and large roll-out deck that extends the platform to 5.40metres, it’s said by JLG to offer an ideal solution for use around jobsites when heavy units have to be installed at great height overhead.
Scanclimber’s three-mendous hoist
April 12, 2012
Scanclimber claims to have developed the world’s first callable multipurpose hoist. Triple Hoist, being exhibited by the Finnish firm at Intermat, is said to be lightweight and deployable in three different ways – as a material hoist; a transport platform; or as a personnel hoist. Scanclimber says Triple Hoist has been specifically designed for smaller building projects, making them ideal for rental and scaffolding companies. Because of its multipurpose use, fast installation and value price, Scanclimber cl
