Norway’s landmark tunnel project is due to open at the end of 2019. The Ryfylke tunnel will be both the longest and deepest undersea road tunnel built anywhere in the world when it opens to traffic. The new link connects the city of Stavanger with Strand in the district of Ryfylke. Two other tunnels form part of the project to build the new Ryfast link. New Chinese expressway from Guangzhou to Zhongshan

A new expressway connecting the Chinese cities of Guangzhou and Zhongshan is being planned. Work will commence in 2020 and the project has an estimated cost of US$3.06 billion. The route will also connect with the highway connecting Zhongshan to Shenzhen. The expressway will run between the south of Nansha and the west of Zhongshan. It is expected to open to traffic in 2024.
Consultation soon for Vancouver area’s Massey Tunnel replacement

The Canadian province of British Columbia could put options for a Massey Tunnel replacement out to consultation late this year or early next. A series of improvement works are being carried out in various parts of Florida, in a bid to improve traffic flow. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is starting work to widen the 11km stretch of Florida Turnpike between Boynton Beach Boulevard and Lake Worth Road. The Manila-Cavite Expressway could be extended following a new proposal from Cavitex Infrastructure. This would see the route being lengthened from Kawit to connect with Tanza, running through Noveleta and Sanglely. Building Segment 5 of this route would cost an estimated US$553 million. Should the proposal get the go ahead from the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), the construction work would commence in 2021.
