Yanmar's SV60 midi-excavator is compact but high performance

Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe (CEE) has introduced the SV60, its latest short-tail midi-excavator. The 5.7 tonne machine has been designed to offer the performance of a midi-excavator with the benefits of a compact excavator, claims the company. The SV60 has a reduced tail swing and a minimal rotational radius of 2,240mm, giving it a working envelope of 3,565mm. The SV60 midi-excavator is built for demanding conditions
7139 Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe (CEE) has introduced the SV60, its latest short-tail midi-excavator. The 5.7 tonne machine has been designed to offer the performance of a midi-excavator with the benefits of a compact excavator, claims the company.

The SV60 has a reduced tail swing and a minimal rotational radius of 2,240mm, giving it a working envelope of 3,565mm. With comfort in mind to enhance operator productivity, the new machine's cabin is comparable in size to 8 and 10 tonne excavators. Operating controls and switches are ergonomically arranged for easy reach and an air suspension seat comes as standard. The machine is also equipped with a rear-view camera with an additional screen offering great visibility and enhanced safety.

The SV60 features the latest Yanmar engine with output of 33.4kW at 2,200 revolutions per minute, and the ViPPS three-pump hydraulic system that optimises the combination of speed, power, smoothness and balance. With a digging force of 24.8 kN with a standard arm or 27.3 kN with a long arm, and a penetrating force 41.9 kN with a bucket, the SV60 is equipped to work in hard conditions.

Materials supplier Tarmac has invested in a Hitachi EX1900-6 ultra-large excavator for its Swinden Quarry in North Yorkshire, England. The EX1900-6 is used to load up to 1,200 tonnes of carboniferous limestone per hour directly into a 200tonne mobile crusher. A field conveyor takes the material to a secondary crusher at an average rate of 1,000tonnes/hour. The Hitachi model was supplied with a longer boom and arm, and a smaller 8m³ bucket, customary on a machine of this size. “This is because it needs

Case says the CX75C SR and CX80C, its new and claimed market first Tier 4 Final emissions standard midi-excavators, offer more performance power and greater operator cabin comfort than previous models. Tier 4 Final requirements are said to have been met through the use of Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (CEGR) combined with a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) system. Case says there is no requirement for the two new mid-excavators to have a costly Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), so there is no need for acti
