Rud’s new tyre chain product offers long life and ease of use
5824 RUD’s latest R-Lock and C-Link products are said to make the installation and repair of tyre protection chains quicker and safer. The Easy R-Lock’s revolutionary design replaces conventional, risky, hammer-home rolled steel securing pins and hazardous cutting gear with an integral, hex-key-operated two-piece, locking device. This simplifies and speeds the installation and removal of tyre protection chains. The product also offers benefits when there is a need to replace a damaged wear link. Until now, common practice has been to secure the replacement link by hammering home a non-removable, steel pin. However, the one piece, forged, steel Easy C-Lock is quickly secured and removed by rotating the integral locking device through 180° with a conventional flat head screw driver. Available in 16, 18 and 22mm sizes, both Easy R-Lock and Easy C-Lock can be used with any make of tyre protection chain according to the firm. Other recently introduced products being show include 3196 Erlau’s Crown X23, a profiled tyre protection chain capable of accommodating high tractive forces and the Granit Plus X23 links with additional wear volume for hard and abrasive surfaces. They also include the low-profile, light-weight, energy-saving Toro X19 for protection underground and the terrier-toothed Terra Plus X16 traction chain.
