RDS Technology Loadex100 excavator weighing system is retrofittable
2587 RDS Technology’s retrofittable Loadex 100 excavator weighing system is designed specifically to weigh the contents of a 360° excavator bucket/clamp, while operating in the fastest loading environments.

Calculations are made by a smart box using information from a number of sensors installed on the excavator, ensuring the accuracy of the resultant weight information, says RDS Technology.

RDS Technology’s Loadmaster a100 weighing system is designed for wheeled, telescopic and tractor-type loaders, and it has a CAN-based system combining cutting-edge sensor technology and signal processing techniques.

iSOSYNC PC software has been designed by RDS Technology to function with both the Loadex and the Loadmaster a100, and allows the rapid transfer of job information from a central computer to the loader or excavator. The resultant load information is then sent back to the PC upon completion.

Intelligent monitoring of concrete strengths is helping contractors shave weeks off construction programmes, according to formwork specialist Doka. Its Concremote system measures the temperature of the concrete, converts that to predicted strength and allows the contractor to strike the formwork when the concrete is ready – rather than waiting for a set number of days. “Concretemote is being used on 20 to 25 projects,” said Doka’s director of research and development Johann Peneder.

Günter Papenburg has developed a cooling feature for asphalt plants that it says shortens the time normally needed for a plant’s coal dust-fuelled burners to reach operating temperatures. The cooling technology has been licenced from LOESCHE, a German producer of coal milling systems. GP managing director Carsten Weiss claimed that the firm’s burners consume more of the fuel than rival types, which only burn 90% of the coal dust. “We get an asphalt temperature of 170°C with low emissions and high efficiency

Loadrite global marketing communications manager Simon Rush says the New Zealand firm’s on-board weighing systems for construction machines have been designed with operators in mind. “They take raw data and turn it into something really easy to understand,” said Rush. “Operators are only using one button 90% of the time, which means they are more likely to take up using them.” The Loadrite X-Weigh 2350, being exhibited at INTERMAT, can track overall tonnes and tonnes per hour throughout a construction proje
