Power comes from a Tier 3/Stage IIIA diesel delivering 104kW and the machine is aimed at customers in developing markets such as the Middle East and Africa. Performance is said to be improved over the previous generation while the machine also has an upgraded cab with better controls and all round visibility.

Cummins unveiled two new engines at bauma in Shanghai. Both the QSF3.8 and QSB7 are primarily for the Chinese market and are Tier 3 compliant. “They are optimised for excavator products and for Chinese OEM manufacturers” said Jonathon White Executive Director of Off Highways at Cummins.

Furukawa Rock Drill (FRD) is increasing the performance of its FXJ hydraulic breakers. The firm has increased the power to weight ration due to continuous developments of the FRD Inliner-Systems and various patented solutions. Weight has been reduced breaker while the units offer higher impact energy results for a greater breaking power.
From 2016 the FXJ is available in six models for excavators from 9-75tonnes, including two new models, the FXJ125 and FXJ770.
