Dynavis technology is a winner for hydraulic fluid performance

Dynavis demonstrated how its formulated fluid technology can improve the performance of hydraulic systems at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. More usually deployed in demanding construction and mining applications, Dynavis formulated fluid was added to a small hydraulic system connected to an exercise bicycle and put head to head with a similar system filled with a standard fluid. Show visitors could mount the bicycles and test the comparative performance of the Dynavis technology for themselves.

Dynavis staff demonstrate the advantage of its technology

7645 Dynavis demonstrated how its formulated fluid technology can improve the performance of hydraulic systems at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

Using Dynavis-formulated fluid, less power is required at start than with conventional fluids since it provides lower viscosity at the lower start-up temperature, while its formulation also helps avoid internal leakage and recirculation at higher temperatures. In a recent application with mining excavation in India, the use of Dynavis resulted in a 12.8% saving in fuel, claims the company.

Contractors can realise substantial fuel savings and productivity gains through the use of a new hydraulic fluid, said DYNAVIS. DYNAVIS is making its inaugural trade show appearance in North America at Conexpo 2014. The company has provided contractor case studies that show fuel savings of 5% to 10%, with some reporting savings of 30%. The contractors also report a “noticeable improvement” in performance. One contractor said he achieved $8,000 in measurable savings that he attributed to switching his hydr

Dynavis, the hydraulic fluid technology business of Evonik, is highlighting an Indian quarry case study that recorded 12% more material moved per litre of fuel. In the quarry, owned by a major Indian energy company near the city of Ranchi, hydraulic mining excavators are extracting coal and removing slate for roofing tiles. The excavator weighed 111 tonnes and has an engine output of 567kW. Around 1,100 litres of hydraulic fluid circulated in its hydraulic system and the unit was operated 24 hours a day.

Dynavis, a hydraulic fluid additive, has been a money-saver for many heavy equipment operators and case studies confirming this will be on show at the Evonik stand at INTERMAT. Up to 30% more hydraulic power versus a conventional mono-grade ISO 46 fluid has been recorded, says Rolf Fianke, aftermarket support manager at Evonik, based in Darmstadt, Germany.
