Dynavis technology is a winner for hydraulic fluid performance

Dynavis demonstrated how its formulated fluid technology can improve the performance of hydraulic systems at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. More usually deployed in demanding construction and mining applications, Dynavis formulated fluid was added to a small hydraulic system connected to an exercise bicycle and put head to head with a similar system filled with a standard fluid. Show visitors could mount the bicycles and test the comparative performance of the Dynavis technology for themselves.

Dynavis staff demonstrate the advantage of its technology

7645 Dynavis demonstrated how its formulated fluid technology can improve the performance of hydraulic systems at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

Using Dynavis-formulated fluid, less power is required at start than with conventional fluids since it provides lower viscosity at the lower start-up temperature, while its formulation also helps avoid internal leakage and recirculation at higher temperatures. In a recent application with mining excavation in India, the use of Dynavis resulted in a 12.8% saving in fuel, claims the company.

Chemical company Evonik has formulated an additive pack that creates multi-grade hydraulic oil for excavators. It is said to deliver a significant improvement in fuel efficiency compared to traditional mono-grade hydraulic oils. It’s called Dynavis and the key, said Evonik, is a clever viscosity improver that prevents aeration, which can cause cavitation and a loss of performance in hydraulic pumps. Dynavis’ technology is a closely guarded secret - it is not available as a pour-in additive, but is sold in
