179 CEI Enterprises is now developing a full new line of concrete production plants. This takes the firm, part of 681 Astec Industries, into a new business segment and CEI is working on the engineering required as well as planning its manufacturing and marketing operations for these units. The range will include nine new designs of concrete plants and will include both traditional batch plants and innovative new plant technologies. Included in the new innovative technologies will be the conventional concrete, roller compacted concrete (RCC), and cement treated base (CTB) plant designs that had previously been produced by Astec INC. With this technology transfer, Astec INC is exiting the concrete production plant business to focus on a new renewable energy product line and all concrete plant prodution equipment is being moved over to CEI. Chicago Pneumatic has launched a new complete line of compact tandem asphalt rollers and soil compactors to the North American marketplace.
The introduction of ride-on rollers is said to offer a larger-scale complement to the line of Chicago Pneumatic light compaction equipment.
The models being introduced in North America include articulated tandem asphalt rollers in both petrol and diesel models, as well as small vibratory rollers for soil compaction.

This Manitou range is now assembled at the company's Waco factory in Texas as the market is growing strongly in the USA but is mature in Europe. Shifting production reduces transport costs. Special characteristics claimed for the M30 and M50 include easy maintenance and use together with a high-quality mast that features tilting up to 15% and three lifting heights up to 7m.
