Golden moment at INTERMAT ribbon cutting ceremony

Monsieur Bernard Accoyer, the president of the French National Assembly, officially opened INTERMAT 2012 with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. Equipped with gold-plated scissors, M Accoyer paused for the media before slicing through the tricolour ribbon on his way to an extensive 90-minute tour of the show’s exhibition halls, to savour all that the construction industry has to offer.
New mobile range from Telestack

Northern Ireland manufacturer Telestack is launching the newest design in the TC range of track mobile conveyors, the TC 421 Automatic Radial. According to Telestack, the TC421 increases safety of sites, facilitates less site traffic movements and improves efficiency of operations.
Guntert and Zimmerman slipform paver lands in Europe

Guntert & Zimmerman (G&Z) has launched the new S600 multi-purpose concrete slipform paver at INTERMAT. According to company spokesperson David Lipari, the S600 is designed to address the markets shift from large dual lane, mainline paving jobs to smaller cut-up projects. “The S600 is designed to fulfill the need for a small or medium, versatile, multi-purpose paver that retains the ability to achieve good smoothness numbers,” said Lipari.
Unic adds 10tonne lift model to its mini crane range

Unic Cranes Europe has added a 10tonne lift machine to its line-up. The URW-1006 offers a 30.7m lift height and a 24.3m working radius. However, at just 2m wide, the machine remains capable of accessing restricted working areas. The spider platform has configurable outriggers to provide greater stability when lifting on uneven surfaces. The crane also uses a Wylie i4500 safe load indicator to provide lifting information to the operator on a colour LCD screen.

The Warrior 2400 is the largest machine in Powerscreen’s Warrior range and is designed for large-scale operators in the quarrying and mining sectors. It is capable of handling larger feed sizes and has an output potential of up to 800tonnes per hour. It features a heavy-duty incline screen with a high amplitude triple shaft drive mechanism, lending it to screening, scalping, two or three-way splitting and stockpiling materials like aggregates, topsoil, coal, construction, demolition waste and iron ore.
Artists help IPAF highlight safe working at height

Urban artists Mr Shiz and Foundry are spray-painting two 7m by 5m canvasses during the show to help IPAF highlight the safe and effective use of powered access equipment. Both have been trained and licensed to operate the equipment safely and visitors can see them at work in the IPAF Safety Zone, which also features information and guidance for managers and operators.
Master Mix 1000, music to asphalt ears

INTERMAT sees the world release of the Master Mix 1000 compact mobile asphalt plant by German manufacturer Benninghoven. The Master Mix 1000 is designed with smaller asphalt operations in mind. With the entire asphalt plant constructed on one chassis, customers can expect to be producing asphalt within a day of delivery. “Flexibility and transportability were the key design criteria,” said company spokesman Bernd Benninghoven.
Yanmar shows tracked swivel skip at INTERMAT

Yanmar Construction Equipment chose INTERMAT to reveal its latest tracked dumper development – the prototype C30R-2R – complete with swivel skip body. The 2,500kg skip can be slewed through 180 degrees, allowing material to be discharged anywhere around the front of the machine. In addition, the C30R-2R also uses a reverse drive console. With dual controls, the reverse drive platform allows the operator to spin the seat through180 degrees to remain facing forward when driving the machine in either direction

Recirculation reduces the need for secondary crushing

McCloskey International has added the option of a recirculating conveyor and screen box to its I44 impact bar mobile crusher, creating the I44R. After the material passes through the crusher, anything over a nominal 20mm is recirculated back into the crusher to be reduced further.
