The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
Millions of US dollars are being poured into new and expanding toll road projects in Indonesia.
Wijaya Karya (Wika), the Indonesian government-owned construction service provider, will build toll roads linking Kedung Badak to Kedung Halang and Pandaan to Gempol in Bogor through two contracts worth US$36.35million (IDR 340.80bn) and US$23.98million (IDR 225bn), respectively. Awarded by highways operator Jasa Marga (JSMR), the contracts require the roads completion in 18 months.
Kiratpur Ner Chowk Expressway has given IL&FS Engineering Services (IL&FS) a letter of intent (LoI) for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in India worth US$263.9 million (INR 14.36bn). Under the deal, IL&FS will undertake a scope of work including minor bridges, five tunnels, 18 major bridges, toll plazas, 67.3km of road work and related infrastructure. Work is now underway on a series of projects in Algeria, including the East West Highway and a key highway bypass. The 67km Khémis Miliana-Berrouaghia bypass is expected to cost around US$836 million, with work due for completion at the end of 2016. The project is being handled by an Algerian/Italian team.
