Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province. The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.

Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
A massive budget for highway construction and upgrading is being set in place by the Vietnamese authorities. In all some US$18.73 billion is being set aside for the construction and development of Vietnam's expressway system.
Approval has been given for Vietnam’s Hoa Binh-Moc Chau expressway project. The go ahead has been given by Vietnam’s Government. The project has an estimated cost of US$881 million and is planned as a public-private partnership. The construction work is expected to take 42 months and the new route will connect Hoa Binh to Moc Chau. When complete the expressway will cut the journey time between Hanoi and Moc Chau by around two hours.
Vietnam is expanding its road and highway network with a series of major projects, as well as numerous upgrades to rural roads. A funding deal worth US$1.6 billion is being provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Ben Luc yo Long Thanh National Highway. This route connects Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City and Long An. A portion of the necessary funding for ground clearance for the route is being provided by Vietnam’s State Budget. However the country is stopping work on the National Highway 3 project
Plans are in hand for transport expansion in China. This includes major works in the Chinese provinces of Hubei and Hebei as well as the city of Yibin. In Hubei province the infrastructure programme calls for 6,500km of highway to be complete by the end of 2015. Hubei Province has spent US$17.07 billion in the first three years of the 12th Five-Year Period (2011-2015) on highway construction. At the moment, 2,278km of highway is under construction in the province. Meanwhile Hebei Province plans to spend $3.
