Work begins on Vietnam’s Long Van-Long My road project
Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province. The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.

Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
A series of highway upgrades will improve transport links in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta area. Improvements will be carried out to 52km stretch of the National Highway 53. The tender process is opening shortly for this road improvement contract, with the work expected to cost around US$51.4 million. Improvements are also being planned for the Quan Lo-Phung Hiep National Highway. This work should commence in late 2019 and should be complete in 2020.

In Vietnam work is now underway on a major new highway that will connect Ho Chi Minh city, Long An and Dong Nai. This 57km highway is currently the biggest road project in Vietnam’s southern region. The four-lane highway will have a speed limit of 100km/h and the project is costing some US$1.6 billion. The project is due for completion in 2018.
Two major highway projects are now moving forward in China, with one connecting Guangdong Province with Guangzhou Province and the other lcoated in Yunnan Province. The second stage of Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing highway project will provide an improved link between Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Province and work will commence at the end of 2015. Approval has been given for 10 key road projects in Vietnam. A portion of the funding required will be sourced via an allotted budget for the 2016-2020 period. The budget is for some US$643.7 million, although this also includes funding for four rail projects as well as the 10 key road projects. The approval has come from Vietnam's National Assembly Standing Committee. One of the priority road projects is for the road connection between the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway and the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway.
