Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province. The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.

Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province.
The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
All villages in Vietnam will be connected by roads that can be used by motor vehicles by 2015, according to the country’s Ministry of Transport.
The key access pledge is part of a road building programme started five years ago that has so far cost US$2.23 billion (VND 47 trillion). Part of the scheme also includes the construction of roads for motorbikes and non-motorised vehicles, especially roads running through poor areas.
A 198km stretch of highway in northwestern Vietnam is to be upgraded. The route forms part of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Kunming-Hi Phòng Transport Corridor. A loan worth US$188 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will help pay for the work. The highway runs through a mountainous region and is important to Vietnam as it provides a connection between Hà Ni and China's Yunnan province. The work will improve the existing road connections and boost connectivity for Vietnam’s northern provinces
Vietnam’s Quang Ninh Province is setting out plans for major infrastructure projects. One project will be for a new tunnel link running under Cua Luc Bay, while the road projects are for the Ha Long-Cam Pha coastal route and the Van Don-Mong Cai Highway.
Construction of the 1.3km undersea tunnel project in Ha Long city is now subject to a feasibility study. Construction is expected to commence in 2019.
