Work has begun on the Long Van-Long My road in Vietnam's Binh Dinh province. The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.

The US $47.71 million project (VND 995bn), due for completion in 2015, will create a 7km road connecting National Highways 1D and 1A in Quy Nhon town.
Plans in the Philippines are being set out for a highway and bridge mega-project. The proposals call for a 388km highway from Northern Samar to Lucena, Quezon Province. The bridge would span the San Bernardino Strait and connect Allen in Northern Samar Province on Samar Island with Matnog on the Bicol Peninsula in Sorsogon Province. Over US$ 700 million (MAD 6bn) has been released for the construction of a 172km motorway between Berrechid-Beni and Mellal in Morocco. The new highway will feature two toll booths and three rest areas. Although delays are expected, the project is due for completion in 2014. Work is due to commence in 2017 on the new Cavite-Laguna Expressway in the Philippines. This 47km route will run along the coast to the south of capital Manila, with its north eastern end lying close to the city’s international airport. The route connects Cavitex in Cavite's Kawit with the SLEx-Mamplasan Interchange in Laguna's Biñan. The project will improve connections to the airport as well as from Manila to the southern end of Luzon.
Work on a key bridge link in Vietnam is behind schedule and the construction team will have to speed up work. Delays have hit the project to build the Vam Cong Bridge, which will span the Hau River. The firms building the bridge, South Korean contractor, GS E&C and Hanshin E&C has been told by Vietnam's Transportation Ministry to accelerate construction efforts.
