WCT secures US$319.69mn Oman expressway construction deal

Malaysian construction firm WCT has secured a contract worth US$319.69 million (MYR 1bn) for the construction of a 44.75km expressway in Oman. According to a statement, WCT will be undertaking the project through a joint venture with Oman Roads Engineering within a period of three years.

Indian daily newspaper The Economic Times says the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport-led project involves widening the Mafraq to Al Ghweifat highway. It will be built over a period of 30 months. The joint venture also bids for another two road projects in Abu Dhabi, according to The Economic Times.
