Bidding interest is strong for a major highway project in the United Arab Emirates. The 327km Mafraq-Ghweifat Highway concession project has attracted bids from three major international consortia. The concession will be for a 25 year PPP deal. The bidders are the MTD-CSCEC Consortium, the Mafraq Motorway Group and the IRTIBAAT Consortium. The MTD-CSCEC Consortium comprises 1295 China State Engineering Construction, 1296 MTD Group and 2379 Ghantoot Transport. The Mafraq Motorway Group is made up of French firm 2376 EGIS Projects, J&P AVAX, Joannou & Paraskevaides, Austria-based 1300 Strabag SE and 1301 Saif Bin Darwish. The IRTIBAAT Consortium comprises 2377 Mouchel Middle East, 2378 Macquarie Capital Group, 1302 Al Jaber Transport & General Contracting, NV 1303 Besix, 1304 Transfield Services International, Construtora Norberto 1305 Odebrecht and 1306 Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank
