Russia has approved a new state programme for the development of its high-speed road network – Eugene Gerden reports
The Russian government has officially approved a new state programme, which is aimed at developing the federal high-speed road network in the country. This programme will run until 2030, according to recent statements by the official state press-service.

St Petersburg’s road building and repair projects could be valued at US $443.15 million (RUB 14.10bn) by the end of 2012, according to Russian daily newspaper Kommersant. The main contractors said to be bidding for projects are Mostostroy 6; Mostootrayd 19; Vozrozhdenie; Dorozhnik-92; VAD; Buer; ABZ Dorstroy; Pylon; Lendorstroy-2; and Akros.
Vice Governor of St.Petersburg Sergey Kozyrev has reported that an agreement with the Vozrozhdenie group of companies on construction of the northern section of the Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD) can be annulled after a failure to complete the works on time. Another subcontractor is reported to be likely to complete construction of the multi-million dollar toll highway project in St Petersburg.
