The Austrian group 945 Strabag has been awarded a two-year contract worth €34.6mn for the modernisation of a 48km stretch of the national road M2 in the Republic of Moldova. The upgrade route runs between Ghindesti and Drochia.
Strabag consortium has won a tender for the construction of a 4.5km S7 dual carriageway section in the eastern part of Krakow, Poland. The investment will also include the construction of a bridge over the Vistula River. The gross value of the offer made by Strabag reached almost €127.93 million (PLN 529 million), which is less than the budget of the investor set at PLN 610.3 million. In total nine offers have been submitted in the tender. All bidders offered a ten-year guarantee and a 27-month deadline.
Two road upgrade contracts in Tanzania have been awarded to four Chinese construction firms. In all the work will be worth some US$312.74 million and will extend to 432km of road improvements.
Poland is planning to enter seven transport projects to the Connecting Europe Programme, with these having a combined value close to €2.86 billion. Among the planned projects are the S61 express road between the Lithuanian border and Augustow. Meanwhile STRABAG and Budimex have formed a consortium that will construct a 41km stretch of the A4 highway in Poland. The section of the route runs from Rzeszów to Jarosław, in south-eastern Poland.
