The authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar Region intend to boost financing for regional highways and rural roads in 2012.

The authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar Region intend to boost financing for regional highways and rural roads in 2012. In 2011 some US$235 million was spent on regional highways in Krasnodar but this will be increased to $436 million for 2012. Meanwhile around $100.6 million will be spent on upgrading rural roads in Krasnodar. In all some 1,000km of roads will be improved and repaired under the 2012 plans.

    Regional roads in Russia look set for a revamp during 2015. Some US$6.64 billion will be spent on Russia’s regional roads, according to the Rador association. This compares against the $5.8 billion spent on repairs and revamping of Russia’s regional roads in 2014.     The authorities in Russia’s Astrakhan Region intend to boost road investment in 2013. Over US$289 million is being budgeted for road repair and construction during 2013. This represents a three-fold increase over the sum spend on road repair and construction in the Astrakhan Region during 2012. The priority project is for construction of the new Astrakhan-Makhachkala road, which is financed by Russia’s Federal budget.

    A major highway project is planned for Russia’s Krasnodar Region, part of a series of road works for the area. The state-owned firm Avtodor intends to invest US$767.45 million on developing the M4 Don highway in the Krasnodar Region by 2014. Toll roads will extend for some 766km out of the 1,564km of road development works planned for the Krasnodar Region.
