Plans have been revealed for a new ring road project in Turkmenistan. The project looks likely to cost over US$223 million. The deal to build the road has been awarded to contractor Vozrozhdenie.
Three Slovenian contractors, Primorje, Vegrad and GPG, are well placed to win key construction tenders in Libya. The contracts are worth a total of ?300 million and include a highway project as well as general construction work.
Vice Governor of St.Petersburg Sergey Kozyrev has reported that an agreement with the Vozrozhdenie group of companies on construction of the northern section of the Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD) can be annulled after a failure to complete the works on time. Another subcontractor is reported to be likely to complete construction of the multi-million dollar toll highway project in St Petersburg. Vozrozhdenie says delays were caused by non-payment for works already implemented. According to Vozrozhdenie,
Preliminary utilities work is set to begin in September on the last section a ring road around the Canadian city of Calgary.
The Calgary Herald newspaper quoted the Alberta provincial infrastructure and transportation minister Brian Mason saying that the project is on schedule. He said “everything is going as planned … It’s important that we keep on top of this and it’s important that we keep it moving forward and so far we’re doing just that.”
