Poland’s viaTOLL system expanded

The electronic toll system viaTOLL has been expanded in Poland. On 12 January 12 2013, an extra 140km of A1 motorway and S1 and S8 dual carriageways came under the viaTOLL network, according to the directive of the Polish Council of Ministers. A further 160km expansion of viaTOLL is scheduled for 30 March 2013.

    Almost €348 million will be needed for a 32km extension to Poland’s A2 motorway from Biala Podlaska to Terespol, near the border with Belarussia.     Work on a series of major road projects is now gathering pace. The Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) is signing contracts worth over €753.55 mIllion for the construction of two S7 dual carriageway sections.
