Reducing urban traffic congestion is being seen as a priority in many cities. French capital Paris has had a number of car-free days, which has more recently been replicated in Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh. Looking ahead, the plan by Edinburgh’s local authority is to cut city centre traffic by 30% in 10 years.

France, which has red light enforcement cameras fitted at 700 intersections throughout the country, has reported that they are bringing in substantially more revenue than expected. The fine for those running red lights is a €135 euro fine (US$183) and four penalty points on the driver’s licence.
Visitors to a nature reserve in Thailand had an unusual animal encounter when an elephant decided to sit on their car. The nature reserve is close to the Thai capital Bangkok and the car owners had decided to see some wildlife.
