Mozambique’s road network is to receive international funding for various projects. The 304km road connecting Cuamba and Lichinga in Niassa province will be improved under the plan.
A major programme of road upgrades and repairs is planned for Macedonia. The Macedonian Government has announced plans to spend €132 million on improving its road network in 2015. The majority of the funds will be used to upgrade regional roads, which will receive some €124 million of the budget. Meanwhile local road upgrades will receive just €8 million. Burkina Faso is planning a major road upgrade programme. The Burkina Faso Government has set a budget of US$309 million to improve several key road sections. A portion of the funding being supplied by Japan. Funding is also being supplied by the West African Development Bank and through the Burkina Special Road Fund (FSR-B).
