A major new toll link will boost Indonesia’s transport connections

Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.
Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will award a series of road projects worth around US$1.3 billion in early 2016. These project include work on the first section of the bi-oceanic corridor, the reconstruction of Route 9, the expansion of Routes 2 and 7 and the second bridge connecting Paraguay with Brazil. Construction is still underway on new toll lanes for Interstate 77 in North Carolina. The US$647 million project is expected to improve traffic flow on the most congested stretches close to the city of Charlotte. Some new tolled stretches of the northbound section could be open before the end of 2018. However the southbound section is not expected to open until 2019.
In Ethiopia, three road projects worth over US$240 million will be built as part of the country's fourth road sector development plan.
The government will fund the projects using its own resources.
The first project is the 83km Sodo-Tercha asphalt-concrete project, costing around $84 million and to be built by China Railway Seventh Group. Completion is scheduled for 19 months.
