Link deals awarded in Mexico

In Mexico the contractor Ideal has been awarded a package of highway and road works worth a total of US$667 million in all.

In Mexico the contractor 3136 Ideal has been awarded a package of highway and road works worth a total of US$667 million in all. The concession package is for a highway measuring 169km and road sections that are 111km and 30km long. The highway connects Guadalajara and Tepic while the 111km road is in Guadalajara and the 30km road is in Tepic. The agreement is for a 48 month construction period with work commencing in January 2012. Ideal is part of the 3135 Carso group and the company will pay $342 million to the authorities now that it has the package of works, with the rest of the payment to come later. Seven firms tendered for the works in all, including ideal.

    A new stretch of highway is now opening to traffic in India. The 80km stretch of highway runs between Kundli and through Manesar to Palwal. Called the KMP Expressway, the route has had something of a checkered history and has been completed somewhat later than originally intended.
