Liebherr is launching a revised R922 crawler excavator, replacing the previous R906 and joining the R918 and R926 in the company’s medium weight line-up. Powered by a Stage IIIB Liebherr diesel engine, developing 105kW (143hp), the R922 weighs in at 22 tonnes and designed as a general purpose civils machine. Liebherr launching a revised R922 crawler excavator
718 Liebherr is launching a revised R922 crawler excavator, replacing the previous R906 and joining the R918 and R926 in the company’s medium weight line-up. Powered by a Stage IIIB Liebherr diesel engine, developing 105kW (143hp), the R922 weighs in at 22 tonnes and designed as a general purpose civils machine. Using a Dual Circuit Positive Control hydraulic system, the excavator is said to consume less energy than previous models, resulting in fuel savings for the customer. The machine on show will be exhibited with a 2.7m dipper arm and LC undercarriage. However even with 600mm track pads the R922 does not exceed the 3.0m overall width for road transport in Europe.
L576 and L580 wheeled loaders have been given revised engines with clean emissions technology and tweaked outputs. It means the L576 delivers 205kW for its 10.5 litre six-cylinder engine, which is equipped with common rail fuel injection, DOC and DPF.
The new generation JS crawler excavators from JCB are said to deliver increased performance along with reduced running costs. The JS220, JS260 and JS360 are all powered by Isuzu diesels that meet the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements with reduced fuel consumption and increased torque rise. For developing markets, there is also a Tier 2 compliant version of the JS220 powered by a JCB 448 Dieselmax engine with a similar output to the 129kW Isuzu diesel in the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB model. Component specialist BLS Enterprises is offering a durable replacement track pad for use on Wirtgen milling machines. President Barry Stoughton said, “We have a direct replacement for the EPS system.” He said that this two part pad system allows the pad to bolt directly onto the track. Long life and durability are claimed, as well as ease of replacement.
