Liebherr updates its R922 crawler excavator with more power
Liebherr is launching a revised R922 crawler excavator, replacing the previous R906 and joining the R918 and R926 in the company’s medium weight line-up. Powered by a Stage IIIB Liebherr diesel engine, developing 105kW (143hp), the R922 weighs in at 22 tonnes and designed as a general purpose civils machine. Liebherr launching a revised R922 crawler excavator
718 Liebherr is launching a revised R922 crawler excavator, replacing the previous R906 and joining the R918 and R926 in the company’s medium weight line-up. Powered by a Stage IIIB Liebherr diesel engine, developing 105kW (143hp), the R922 weighs in at 22 tonnes and designed as a general purpose civils machine. Using a Dual Circuit Positive Control hydraulic system, the excavator is said to consume less energy than previous models, resulting in fuel savings for the customer. The machine on show will be exhibited with a 2.7m dipper arm and LC undercarriage. However even with 600mm track pads the R922 does not exceed the 3.0m overall width for road transport in Europe.
Component specialist BLS Enterprises is offering a durable replacement track pad for use on Wirtgen milling machines. President Barry Stoughton said, “We have a direct replacement for the EPS system.” He said that this two part pad system allows the pad to bolt directly onto the track. Long life and durability are claimed, as well as ease of replacement.
The PR 736 dozer being introduced to the US market at Conexpo 2014 is the first model in Liebherr’s new Generation 6 series and is said to offer customers increased efficiency and lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Among the innovations on the Generation 6 machine models, including the 20-25tonne service weight PR 736, are electronic travel speed regulation with an integral eco-function, and pro-active power control.

Hidromek has added long-reach options for three of its excavators – the HMK220LC, HMK300LC and the HMK370LC. Aimed at special earthmoving and drainage applications, the excavators carry LR branding and have ground level reach of 15.06, 18.19 and 16.6m respectively. Load over heights range from 10.85m with the HMK220LC LR to 12.59 with the HMK300LC LR. The long-reach HMK220LC delivers 7,300kgf of bucket digging force with a 0.45m3 bucket, with the figures rising to 1m3 and 11,400kgf with the HMK370LC LR.
