A major road project in Kuwait now has the go-ahead and construction will commence shortly. A consortium comprising local firm 3103 Boodai Construction, the Italian companies 975 Rizzani De Eccher and the 978 Trevi Group and Spanish firm 980 OHL won the deal with a bid of US$840 million.

    Bidding is strong for the works to construct two bypasses in Slovakia. The road links are the 14.5km long northern Kosice bypass and the 8km Presov bypass. Both bypasses form part of the D1 motorway. The estimated value of both projects is nearly €580 million. Slovakia’s national motorway company NDS opened the bids for the Presov by-pass before the end of 2015. A consortium comprising local firm Duha and Salini Impregilo is amongst the bidders for the work.

    The Polish construction consortium of Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman has won a tender to build a 22.6km section of the S3 express road between Silesian town of Legnica in the southwest and Lubin Poludiine, around 170km southeast of the capital Warsaw.     Plans are moving forward for two key highway projects in Poland. The Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) says that the best offer for the construction of the Rzeszow - Jaroslaw section of the A4 highway has been submitted by a consortium comprising contractors Budimex and Strabag.
