A funding package worth €75 million is being provided by Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) to Angola’s Ministry of Finance, which will be used to maintain, repair and upgrade existing bridges. A total of 186 bridges have been identified as priority cases for the improvement works.
Angola has a National Development Plan that includes improving the country’s national road network. Road maintenance and improvement works will be carried out, in addition to the bridge upgrades. This is being carried out between 2023 and 2027, with the intention of boosting transport for the country’s agricultural sector and encouraging sustainable economic development.
