Construction starts on Yichang section of China’s Yichang-Yueyang expressway
Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).

Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).
Salini Impregilo has won a new contract worth about €250 million in Poland to design and build a section called Lot 3 of the S7 Expressway. Work on the four-lane 18.3km section between Widoma and Krakow will last 34 months, includes the construction of overpasses, bridges, animal crossings and a 2km viaduct. The S7 will cross Poland from Gdansk in the north to Krakow in the south. The client is the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA). Plans are in hand for a new road tunnel project at Kunming City in China’s Yunnan Province. The Kunming Transportation Bureau has signed a deal with Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co for the underwater tunnel and expressway project, which is worth US$1.31 billion. The project will be constructed on a build-operate-transfer basis. The new link will have a designed speed of 80km/h for the underground section and 100km/h for the sections on surface. Three new expressway projects are planned for China's Hubei Province. Building the new links will cost US$2.17 billion. One of the projects is for a 47.6km link of the route running from Zaoyang to Qianjiang and featuring two lanes in either direction. Another project is for a 24.9km stretch of the route from Qichun to Taihu, again with two lanes in either direction. The third project is for a 61.9km stretch of the route from Qianli to Jiangling.
