Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).

The proposals put forward by the city authorities call for a 1km stretch of the A661 Autobahn to run in a cut and cover tunnel. The project would cost around €350 million and would allow housing to be built over the top of the route.
