Bidding is underway for the first section of Bulgaria's Trakiya Highway. This will be followed shortly by the bidding process for the second 32km stretch of the highway which will be 32km long. The highway is due for completion by early June 2010.
The Bangladesh Government is to open the bidding process for the 6.15km Padma Multi-purpose Bridge project shortly. The bridge project is expected to cost US$2.4 billion in all.
The tender process for a 24km stretch of the Struma motorway project is now underway in Bulgaria. The tender has an estimated value of €447.5 million, with a significant portion of the necessary funding being provided by the EU. This section of the route runs between Kresna and Prupnik, while the project is due for completion in 2023.
Construction will start early this year on 59km of highway as part of the D4/R7 bypass of the Slovakian capital Bratislava.
Ferrovial through its subsidiaries Cintra Infraestructuras and Ferrovial Agroman is leading the consortium on the public-private partnerships deal worth around €1.9 billion, according to media reports. Ferrovial reached financial close on the project in June, noting that their investment would be around €975 million.
