Construction of the 700km motorway is being let in sections, with highly competitive bids coming from the major international players in highways infrastructure.

The 209km section, making up kilometre 334-543, will pass through the Tver and Novgorod regions. Construction cost is around US$4.5 billion. The road should be open prior to the 2018 1556 World Cup, with games to be played in 11 cities within Russia, including St Petersburg and the final in Moscow.
