Caterpillar is now offering a highly versatile backhoe loader model aimed specifically at the African and Middle Eastern markets The Cat 426F2 model is said to able to carry out a wide range of duties and is offered in two and four-wheel-drive variants. Customers can also choose between backhoe loader or excavator control patterns and choose from other options including cab climate control packages and the firm’s Product Link technology.
Hitachi debuts its hybrid hydraulic excavator ZH210-6 in Europe

The ZH210-6 was presented by the Hitachi official Belgium dealer Luyckx at the recent Matexpo biennial trade fair in the Kortrijk Xpo centre. Kortrijk Xpo, in the West Flanders city of Kortrijk, is one of the country’s largest indoor exposition arenas. Hitachi said that the ZH210-6 has the lowest ever fuel consumption for a Hitachi medium hydraulic excavator. It has an advanced hydraulic system and a new lightweight arm.
Wacker Neuson sees business growth with strong results

The Wacker Neuson Group is reporting a strong third quarter performance for 2017. The company’s latest results reveal a marked increase in revenue and earnings and says it remains positive about the fourth quarter of 2017. Wacker Neuson says it expects its revenue and earnings forecast for the current fiscal year to come in at the higher end of previous forecasts. The Wacker Neuson Group reported revenue of € 378.7 million for the third quarter of 2017. This corresponds to an increase of 20% over the €315.

Nebraska plows ahead with an MDSS from Parsons and Iteris

Parsons will provide a maintenance decision support system (MDSS) and automatic vehicle location system on 650 snowplows in the US state of Nebraska. Under the five-year contract, Parsons will use MDSS informatics technology developed by Iteris. The system uses data from remote weather information stations, as well as temperature data from Parsons-equipped snowplows to develop precision treatment recommendations for a specific segment of road. Power underground from Premel’s system

A new mobile power system offers independent electricity and compressed air supply for construction sites. The power package has been developed by Swiss firm Premel and comes enclosed in a standard container, fitted with a generator and a compressor from Atlas Copco. Typical applications for the mobile power stations include tunnel construction sites. For use in operations with a risk of explosions, the system can also be equipped with a spark arrestor.
Compact and powerful telehandler from Manitou

Manitou is now offering its MT420H Buggy telehandler, a compact model. The machine shares many features with the existing MT625 but is built on a smaller scale and features a tighter turning circle, with a width of just 1.49m and a height of 1.9m when its high visibility beacon is fitted. Triple mode steering allows the machine to be manoeuvred in small spaces. The MT420H offers a 2tonne lifting capacity and a maximum lift height of 4.3m, while it can reach forward 2.6m with a load of 800kg.
