Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide Tajikistan US$105 million for two key highway projects. Around $82 million, including subsidies of $70 million, will be used to reconstruct the 88km long Vose - Khovaling road. A further $23 million will go on asphalting the Sayron - Karamyk road. On their completion, both highway works are expected to enhance regional economic cooperation and inclusive economic growth in Tajikistan.

The Hungarian state will spend €250.81 million on road renovation works in 2013 and 2014, according to national media reports. Seven agreements have been signed by local contrcution firms, including Strabag, Swietelsky, Kozgep, Duna Aszfalt, EuroAszfalt, He-Do and Colas Ut. Some of the costs will be covered from EU provided funds.

One in 20 adults was involved in a road accident in the UK in 2012, according to road safety charity, the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM). Referring to information from the National Travel Survey (NTS) published by the Department for Transport (DfT), the IAM says the survey shows that 5.2% of the population admit to having been involved in an accident. Danish motorists are among the most environment-friendly within the EU, according to a new research by the Association of Danish Car Dealers, DAF. In 2012, a new car in Denmark emitted on average 117grams of CO2 per km. This is said to be a decline from 122grams in 2011. DAF's analysis is based on statistics provided by the Danish Statistical Office and the European Environmental Agency.

Philippines first electric vehicle (e-vehicle) charging station has been unveiled by Manila Electric Co (Meralco). The firm says that replication of the initial US$34,000 plus station may take place in order to ensure other areas have the same station. Priority sectors and interested partner firms such as public transport operators will receive help from Meralco to produce the e-vehicle charging technology.
