Philippines toll road deal reached

The first three stretches of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway in the Philippines should be open to traffic by the end of October 2019. Around 10,000 vehicles/day are expected to use the three stretches when they open. The 45km route is costing US$653.4 million to develop. Doosan Bobcat is expanding its facilities in the Czech Republic. The firm has spent around €116 million developing its new Doosan Bobcat EMEA headquarters in Dobříš. The facility employs 1,400 and is the headquarters for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), marking a further expansion in the Czech Republic. Financing secured for Kenya road upgrade

Financing has been secured to pay for upgrading work for the road connecting Kenol, Sagana and Marwa in Kenya. The 84km route includes a stretch of the A2 road and will be widened to dual carriageway status, with two lanes in either direction and a central divider, rather than one lane in in either direction at present. Construction work is now underway for the No3 Thanlyin Bridge in Myanmar. The project is costing US$300 million with the work being carried out by a group of Japanese firms. Funding for the project has been provided by a loan facility from Japan. The new bridge will measures 1,928m in length and is being built 125m from the existing No1 Thanlyin Bridge.
