Germany's Hochtief and US-based Fluor have been awarded a preliminary construction contract for the Zuidasdok regeneration project in Amsterdam. Hochtief and Fluor will each secure 42.5% of the €990 million contract while Dutch contractor Heijmans will secure 15%. Pakistan is setting out plans to rebuild infrastructure that has been damaged by flooding. The work to rebuild highways and bridges damaged by the flooding is expected to cost nearly US$219 million. Moscow is pushing ahead with its programme of road repairs in the city and surrounding area. During 2016 some 2,100km of roads benefited from necessary repair and maintenance work. This work cost over US$162 million, with funding coming from the Moscow Regional Budget. China's Heilongjiang Province plans to develop its transport infrastructure. The authorities in the province have set a budget of US$2.99 billion to develop road links as well as waterways. India’s Madhya Pradesh State is developing plans to upgrade existing roads to highway status. The programme will see up to 2,000km of roads being widened with extra lanes being added as well as new safety measures being installed. The aim of this programme is to boost connectivity in the state, with the plans have been developed by the State Government and now being submitted to India’s Central Government for approval. Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur will benefit from a major road building programme. Some 72.km of road building work is planned for the city, worth a total of US$ 1.54 billion.
